The facility
Here you can read a little more about the facility and the history of the house.

The facility
This bed & kitchen is located about 10 minutes drive from Varberg city center, out in the countryside in a beautiful, quiet and peaceful environment, and only 2 km from the west coast pearl Träslövsläge. An old fishing village that is still productive. Here you will find a fish shop, a popular ice cream café, a sandy beach with saltwater swimming and northern Scandinavia's best surfing paradise. As a guest you have access to a fantastic garden, the rooms are personally decorated with comfortable beds, a fully equipped shared kitchen, dining room with TV and free Wifi. We have a new department, Lyckliga Gatan, a few steps down that we opened in April 2015, where there is a new kitchen, lounge and 8 double rooms with private shower and toilet. On the first floor Positiva Gatan we have 9 newly renovated rooms completed in April 2019. They are 4-5 bed family rooms with their own shower and toilet in the room, there are 2 fully equipped kitchens with views of the large garden, the rabbit enclosure and the forest grove in the background and a large dining room with TV. In the lush garden with large grassy areas for games and play, many seating areas for socializing, you can use the hostel's barbecue equipment. There is also a playground with a trampoline, slide and swings as well as various games. Here you can cuddle with a rabbit and cat. This is located just under 30 minutes to Ge-Kås in Ullared, Liseberg about 1 hour and only 3 minutes to E6/E20. Unfortunately, the tourism industry is one of the biggest environmental offenders, one of the biggest is laundry. Therefore, we give you the opportunity to help us save nature. Bring your own sheets and towels. If you do not have the opportunity to do so, you can of course rent these.
Brief history
When I, Pia, took over the business from my mother, I knew there was a lot of work ahead, but I fell head over heels for the house, the fantastic garden and its energies. With a great passion for creation and renovation – and a love of beautiful wallpaper – I have given the house and its rooms a completely new and higher standard. With the new standard, the old name felt misleading, and one fine day Annas Bed & Kitchen was born. The name Annas is partly a tribute to my beloved grandmother, but also makes it easier for our international guests and provides a good placement in alphabetical listings. Welcome to enjoy the rural environment and our lush garden!

History of the house
We who run the business today have had the goal of creating a unique accommodation where you feel at home since 2012 when we took over. Here follows a journey through time, where you have the opportunity to follow the development, and at the same time get to know the house and its history a little better: • 1900–1954: The house functions as a poorhouse for families and people who have ended up outside society. • 1954–1967: The building is converted into a retirement home and district clinic. • Late 1960s: The municipality takes over and runs the house as a hostel for a few years. Among others, the director Ulla Heyman is there with her family in the summers. • 1971: My mother Gunnie Johnsson takes over the hostel, saves the house from demolition and begins to renovate step by step. • 2012: My family and I take over the business and start the year by wallpapering the toilets on the first floor. • 2014–2015: The basement, which has been untouched for over 113 years, is being completely renovated. We are replacing the logs, electricity and installing geothermal heating. The basement is being transformed into 8 double rooms with their own showers and toilets, a kitchen and a lounge. • 2016: New kitchen doors are being installed in the kitchen on the first floor. We are wallpapering and soundproofing the dining room, kitchen and hallway. • 2017: The two showers by the toilet on the first floor are being refreshed. • 2019: Complete renovation of the first floor. All bedrooms are being carefully soundproofed according to all the rules of the art to create the quietest and most peaceful environment possible in the old house. All rooms are equipped with a shower and toilet. Together with my daughter Maja, we are decorating all rooms and toilets individually, from a grand style to a country charm. • 2020: The "Strength" room is getting a proper refresh. • 2022: The year of the garden. We restore the fences, embed the parking lot with lush greenery and create the beautiful meadow. • 2023: A new reception and laundry room are built. • 2025–2026: The house gets a new coat of paint and regains its original, beautiful colors • 2026 (Present): Future plans are taking shape! We are currently sitting at the drawing board creating a new space for yoga and conferences.
